Do you want a straighter smile, minus metal braces?
Are you considering orthodontic treatment to straighten your teeth or correct a bite issue, but have been deterred by the appearance of traditional metal braces? Invisalign may be a good option for you.
How You Can Achieve a Straighter Smile With Invisalign
1. Schedule a Consultation
The first thing to do is visit your Burnaby Invisalign provider for a consultation. During your consultation, your dentist will perform an examination of your teeth and bite to find out whether Invisalign clear aligners are a suitable treatment option for you.
If you are a candidate for Invisalign, the dentist will then take a series of scans to help with planning your treatment and creating your clear aligners.
2. Get Your Custom Treatment Plan
At North Burnaby Dental Group, we passionately believe that every smile is unique. Based on the results of your scans and your specific goals for your smile, the dentist will design a custom treatment plan just for you. This plan will define each step of your treatment and specify details such as timelines and the results you can expect from your time with Invisalign.
3. Invisalign Aligners Are Designed to Fit Your Smile
Each of the clear aligners in your treatment series is created to fit your teeth specifically. As you progress through your treatment and switch sets of aligners every 2 weeks or so, your teeth will gradually shift into their corrected positions, courtesy of the aligners. Your aligners are made of clear, thin, flexible and gluten-free plastic. The material is also BPS-free and BPA-free.
4. Your Journey to a Straighter Smile Begins Here
Once the first of your aligners arrives at the dentist’s office, we’ll contact you to pick them up - now you can start your treatment!
When you pick up your aligners, your dentist will have you check to make sure they fit correctly, show you how to wear them, go over your treatment plan with you, and address any questions or concerns you may have about treatment. After this, you may only need to visit your dentist about every 6 to 8 weeks.
During these appointments, your dentist will monitor your progress and make any adjustments to your treatment as needed.
5. Stick With Your Treatment Plan
While you’re wearing them, your clear aligners will be almost invisible to the casual observer - hardly anyone will notice you are progressing through orthodontic treatment.
Bonus: Your aligners are also removable so no dietary changes are required (although the aligners must be worn for 22 hours each day, so you’ll need to fit any eating, drinking and scheduled time without your aligners into 2 hours each day).
You will notice your aligners have a low-profile design, which may help you to feel confident smiling while you are undergoing treatment to straighten your teeth.
