Examinations
Regular examinations allow your dentists to identify problems at their earliest, most treatable stages.
Diagnostic Radiographs
We strive to use the minimal number of radiographs to effectively diagnose, while minimizing radiation exposure. To aid in this, our office only uses digital x-rays.
These are one of the most important tools dentists have for diagnosing dental and oral disease.
Digital x-rays have such distinct advantages as:
- Vastly reducing radiation exposure to patients.
- More environmentally sustainable; no messy developing solutions or wastes.
- The instant imagery is more efficient.
The images are viewed in a larger screen format, which enables us to educate our patients while reviewing their x-rays.
Panorex Radiographs
These show the jaw and sinuses, and can be very useful in diagnosing conditions of wisdom teeth and any jaw abnormalities.
Cone Beam CT Scanner
We are proud to offer in-house diagnostic CT scans as needed.
This reduced the need to have these images done at a radiology clinic.
Intra-Oral Cameras
Allowing you to see what the dentist sees.
Through these, we can take some of the mystery out of what’s happening in your mouth.
Veloscope Oral Cancer Screening
A cutting-edge visible light tool.
Aids in the early detection of pre-cancerous and cancerous lesions in the mouth & oropharynx.
Diagnodent
A sensitive laser that aids in the detection of early decay.
Regular Cleanings
Professional cleanings with a hygienist every 3-6 months helps you maintain a beautiful, fresh smile, and optimal oral health. Regular periodontal examinations at these cleanings can identify gum problems at their earliest and most treatable stages.
Patient Education
You will receive all the information you need to make informed decisions about your dental care, including the best way to care for your teeth between appointments.
Sealants
Back teeth have numerous grooves that can be difficult to cleanse of food particles and bacterial plaque.
As a result, decay can start in these areas, even with a meticulous dental hygiene problem.
Application of dental sealants is painless and non-invasive, and is extremely effective in preventing cavities, particularly in children.
Fluoride
Topical fluoride applied at your cleaning appointment strengthens teeth, and is effective in preventing and reversing early signs of tooth decay.
Therapeutic Mouthguards
Grinding and clenching is a major cause of tooth loss, the damage can be severe, requiring extensive rehabilitation.
A customized guard (also known as a splint; or night guard) is an effective way of preventing damage to teeth, jaw joints, and the surrounding muscles.
Sportsguards
A sportsguard is a cushioned appliance that fits over the dental arch to help prevent tooth injury and reduce concussion during contact sports.
Our sportsguards are custom-made and provide increased retention, comfort, and protection over the “boil and bite” type.
