‘Tis the season for shopping and celebrating, and there’s no better place to do so than on the bustling sidewalks of the Heights.
To kick-off the festive season, the Heights Merchants Association will be hosting a community Tree Lighting Ceremony at Heights Fountain Square (Hastings & MacDonald) on Saturday, Dec. 1 from 3 to 5 p.m. Admission is free, but the donation of a new and unwrapped toy to the Burnaby Christmas Bureau would be most appreciated.
Our community will come together under a beautifully lit tree to enjoy music, warm drinks, sweet treats, kids activities, and a visit from some special guests! We will also have a reading of Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas by the children’s librarian from McGill Public Library. Fair in the Square, a festive holiday market featuring Heights merchants will be returning, meaning holiday shopping will be just a little bit easier this year!
Light up the Heights will take to the streets with strolling carolers and surprise visits from Santa on the following two Saturdays (Dec. 8 & 15) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
