Halloween belongs in the neighbourhood, and nowhere is this more true than on the Heights. On the Heights, Halloween is the true folkloric event that it’s meant to be – safe, fun and a celebration of a good spooking!
We invite you and your family to dress up and trick or treat with our merchants for Halloween on the Heights on Friday, October 31. From 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., take your children to visit participating neighbourhood merchants along Hastings Street to receive some yummy treats. All participating merchants will have a Pumpkin Decal on their business door or window.
Make sure to stop by the Burnaby Central Railway at Confederation Park for the Annual Spooky (but not too spooky) Halloween Trains in the Dark. Admission is $2.50 and costumes for both parents and children are strongly encouraged. The train will be running from approximately 6 to 9 p.m.
At approximately 8:15 p.m., fireworks will light up the sky at Gilmore Community School. A licensed pyrotechnic will be putting on yet another spectacular display!
And the fun doesn’t end there!
On November 1, bring your lit up jack-o-lantern to the Pumpkin Parade at Confederation Park (corner of Albert & Willingdon, rain or shine). All pumpkins will be composted afterwards. Presented by the Vancouver Foundation.
