March 17, 2020
Dear Patients,
As of Monday, March 16, 2020, new protocols in dentistry came into effect for all dental practices across BC. These protocols were sent by BC’s Ministry of Health and our governing body of the College of Dental Surgeons of BC. We are in constant contact with health officials and will continue to follow their updated guidance as provided. This means there could be additional precautions taken that could impact our operations at any time.
Pacific Dental Conference 2020 held at the Vancouver Convention Centre on March 6 & 7, 2020
We are pleased to announce that as of today Tuesday, March 17, 2020, none of our doctors, staff or patients have demonstrated any symptoms of COVID-19.
However, for the protection of our patients and staff and doctors, we have been asked to self-isolate until March 22nd, 2020. In addition to ensure our patients and staff safety, all doctors and auxiliary staff will remain in self-isolation until Thursday, March 26th, 2020.
Dental Procedures
As of Monday, March 16th, 2020, all non-essential dental procedures have been suspended. Only essential and emergency dental procedures will continue at North Burnaby Dental Group.
Patients Responsibilities
Please be informed, that if you have a dental emergency and you are exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19, do not come into the practice. Please call the office and one of our doctors will assess you over the phone and will remedy the situation either via medication or referral to the emergency.
We recommend that all elderly patients, immune-suppressed patients, patients undergoing cancer treatments, patients with heart disease conditions, and pulmonary conditions, to please stay home and self-isolate. Self-isolation is the only form that we know of today that may decrease the spread of the virus.
We are closely observing new developments and will be reporting back to you any changes. We are hopeful to resume our practice soon and our office will contact you to reschedule your appointments.
We recognize that with the constantly changing COVID-19 situation around the world, this is an unprecedented time for everyone — a time that, for many, is filled with uncertainty. These precautionary measures have been taken to limit the potential spread of the virus, to support our patients and staff in
this challenging time and to ensure we maintain our ability to serve you, our patient, for the long term.
Best Regards,
Our Team at North Burnaby Dental Group
