This Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013 from 12 to 5 p.m., the Heights will shine in a merry sidewalk festival with Santa, his elves, festive music, sparkling tree lights and plenty of surprises by Heights merchants.
Hastings Street will remain open while Santa and his elves hand out sweet treats and visit with shoppers. Carollers will stroll along the sidewalk as the sounds of the season fill the streets.
Then at 4:45 p.m., everyone is invited to join Mayor Corrigan and City Officials at Burnaby Firehall No. 5 (Hastings & Carleton) as we ‘Light up the Heights’ over hot chocolate and cookies. We hope you’ll join us!
Event Program:
Last Friday, a special Light up the Heights insert was printed in the Burnaby Now. Merchants who submitted their activity forms were included in the promotion, and will be provided with paper copies to distribute over the next few days and on the day-of. To see the event program, please click here.
How You Can Get Involved:
It’s still not too late to participate! Play some Christmas music in-store, give away some candy canes, wear a Santa hat – the possibilities are endless! We encourage all merchants to participate in some way – the more the merrier. If you’re looking for suggestions as to what you can do, please feel free to contact the HMA Office at 604-294-8899.
